Translating sport’s most complex issues into knowledge that informs, educates and brings people into the conversation.
OUR MISSION
To change how people understand and engage with the issues shaping sport.
We aim to spark deeper conversations about equity, inclusion, governance, accountability and what it takes to build something better in sport.
We challenge assumptions, bring underrepresented perspectives into the conversation and examine sport through the intersecting lenses of ethics, identity, culture and power.
We educate and inform by making complex and often sensitive issues accessible without losing the nuance and context that matter.
OUR VISION
A better sporting world is possible.
A world in which sport is sustainable, safe, accessible, diverse and free from corruption and abuse.
OUR APPROACH
Not just what happened, but why it matters, who it impacts and what it reveals about sport.
Our work examines how power operates in sport, how systems and cultures shape people’s experiences, the ethical questions and tensions that emerge, and what accountability, change and possibility can look like across sporting systems.
We look beneath individual events and decisions to ask whose interests are served, whose voices are heard, what wider forces are at play and where change is possible.
Our independence allows us to work across institutions, academia, advocacy, media, brands and wider public audiences, bringing knowledge and perspectives from different parts of sport into the same conversation. It also gives audiences a source of information and analysis that is not tied to the interests of any one organisation or stakeholder.
This position helps us close the distance between what is known, what gets communicated and what people ultimately understand, across audiences that do not always speak the same language.
The depth of expertise behind our work means audiences can engage with the people who understand the issues, not simply the content itself. We can answer substantive questions, provide evidence and further resources, and continue the conversations our work creates.
This combination of depth, independence and accessibility has helped us build a community that actively engages with, questions, shares and returns to our work.
We connect the worlds of research, sport, media and public conversation.
